IMCORP offers services for
dissecting and analyzing defects in
power cable insulation and
accessories. After performing
a
partial discharge test, it is
recommended that the area of the
cable where the defect or defects
were located be removed and
analyzed. This analysis allows you,
the customer, to correlate the
different types of defects to your
distribution system and to decide
where to concentrate your resources.
The investigation will locate water
trees and electrical trees in the
cable insulation. Dissection of
different accessories, such as
joints and terminators, that are
producing partial discharges will
allow you to determine
the root of
the problem, whether it is
workmanship, or accessory
manufacturing.
